The Western Australia Transport Industry Association Inc. (WATIA) is the peak industry body for the transport and logistics sector in Western Australia. We provide advocacy, member services, industrial relations support, safety and compliance guidance, workforce training and industry events — giving our members the collective voice, expertise and resources needed to operate successful, sustainable businesses.
Background
WATIA was established in July 2026 as the successor to Western Roads Federation Pty Ltd (WRF), which had long provided advocacy and industry representation to the Western Australian transport and logistics sector. The transition to an incorporated association structure created a more appropriate and enduring framework for member governance, industry representation and not-for-profit accountability.

Strong Governance WATIA is governed by a Management Committee of active transport and logistics industry participants who bring real-world experience, a genuine stake in member outcomes and a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Industry Leadership Rather than simply reacting to policy, WATIA is structured to enable the industry to lead. We actively and constructively shape public policy debates across the community, media and government — ensuring our sector helps set the agenda, not just respond to it.
Influence and Reach WATIA maintains strong relationships with the broader WA business community, including CCIWA, regional Chambers of Commerce, WA Farmers Federation, Civil Contractors Federation and Defence West. These alliances substantially elevate the influence of our industry in the eyes of government, media and the wider economy.
Representation on the Issues That Matter Beyond the broad trends shaping our industry, there are always specific segment issues that require direct engagement with government.
